Power shutdown
There will be no power supply on Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the following areas owing to maintenance work in Hebbal sub-station: Hebbal, Aswathanagar, Geddalahalli, CIL Colony, AECS Layout, Industrial Layout, Amarjyothi Layout, UAS Layout, Postal Colony, RMS Colony, NGEF Layout, Central Excise Layout, NII Layout, Vinayaka Layout, Boopasandra Village, UAS campus, Kempapura, AMCO Layout, Kodigehalli, Anandanagar, Cholana-yakanahalli, R.T. Date extended
Last date for admission to first semester B.A., B.Sc., B.Com, B.B.M, BVA, B.Sc, BSLPA, BCA and BHM courses for the year 2006-07 has been extended up to August 31 with a fine of Rs. 200.
Hoardings removed
As part of its drive to remove unauthorised posters and banners in the city, the Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BMP) has removed 686 banners, 1,551 metres of buntings, 211 boards, 20 arches and 408 publicity materials.
Blood donation
Bhagwan Mahaveer Jain College is organising a voluntary blood donation camp on Friday from 9.30 a.m. The camp will be held on the college premises at No.34, I cross, J.C. Road, next to Bangalore Stock Exchange.
Applications invited
The Department of Physical Education of Bangalore University has invited applications for the post of guest faculty for the 2006-07 academic year on consolidated pay basis. Interested candidates may apply for the post with photocopies of marks cards. Candidates should have secured at least 55 per cent marks in MPED course. Preference will be given to those who have passed M.Phil, Ph.D, SLET, and UGCNET. Last date for submission of applications is August 25.
