dated August 19, 1956: Hanumanthaiya resigns

Mr. K. Hanumanthaiya, Chief Minister of Mysore, handed over his resignation and that of his Cabinet to the Rajpramukh on August 18. Talking to newsmen immediately after the resignation, he thanked them for the cooperation given to him. Mr. Kadidal Manjappa, leader of the Mysore Legislature Congress Party, will succeed Mr. Hanumanthaiya as the Chief Minister.
