MUMBAI: The rupee turned weak and ended lower at 46.47/48 a dollar on Friday against 46.4450 on Thursday after the dollar's rally overseas, which prompted small demand for the U.S. currency from importers amid easing oil prices. The activity was dull in the interbank foreign exchange market during the day in the absence of any worthwhile movements. After resuming weak at 46.49/51 a dollar, the rupee later recovered modestly as exporters sold dollars and some foreign banks further reversed positions in the offshore non-deliverable forward (NDF) market at the beginning.
