Two arrested on cheating charge

HYDERABAD: The Sanathnagar police on Saturday arrested two persons, C. Rammohan Rao and N. Bhagwan Reddy, on charge of possessing fake rubber stamps of different officials and 100 stamp papers dating back to 1976.

The duo earlier had cheated some people by preparing land documents using those 64 fake rubber stamps, Sanathnagar Inspector M. Sridhar Reddy said. "The fact that they kept back some 100 stamp papers as old as 35 years indicates they were further planning to dupe gullible people," he said.

The genuineness of even those 100 stamp papers was being verified. On a tip-off, police raided the house of Reddy in Borabanda and seized the rubber stamps and stamp papers. .
