ONGC `A', BPCL share lead

KOLKATA: The top-seeded ONGC `A' team (comprising GMs K. Sasikiran, Koneru Humpy, Neelotpal Das and IM P. Konguvel) and the third-seeded BPCL side (consisting of M.R. Venkatesh, Abhijit Gupta, S. Kidambi and S. Saravanan), jointly led the field with eight points each on the opening day of the IBP organised XVIII PSPB inter-unit chess tournament at the Tollygunge Club here on Monday.

A close second was IOC with 7.5 points.

The team championship was being played in a five-round Swiss League system with two-hour session.
