Double delight for Kottayam

KOCHI: Kottayam finished with a grand double, winning both the men's and women's team titles in the State senior wrestling championship which concluded here on Sunday.

In the men's section, the winner logged 37 points to finish ahead of Kasaragod (23), while the Kottayam women emerged on top of the table with 23 points, pushing Thiruvananthapuram (16) to the second spot.

The results (winners only): Men: 50kg: N.B. Ajeesh (Ktm); 55kg: Jagadeesh (Ksgd); 60kg: Anil Vasan (Tvm); 66kg: H. Shajahan (Ktm); 74kg: Robinson M. Paul (Ktm); 84kg: Gangadhar (Ksgd); 96kg: T.H. Fizal (Idk); 120kg: Anoop Ninan (Ktm).

Team championship: 1. Kottayam (37 points), 2. Kasaragod (23), 3. Thiruvananthapuram (15).
