BANGALORE: The Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BMP) has made elaborate arrangements for the immersion of Ganesha idols at the Sankey Tank, the Ulsoor Lake and the Yediyur Lake. Besides, it has also arranged mobile immersion tanks at nine places in the city. According to a BMP press release, arrangements have been made for safe and easy immersion of the idols under the supervision of BMP staff and the local police for 10 days, starting from August 27. Immersion of idols will be allowed till 11 p.m. on these days. Garlands and other puja items should be dropped in bins kept at the lake sites. Barricades will be erected at the three water bodies to ensure smooth movement of devotees. The designated entry and exit points will be well guarded, the release said. Devotees can enter the Sankey Tank from the main entrance gate at Sadashivanagar; the Ulsoor Lake from the gate opposite to RBANMS College and the Yediyur Lake from 22nd Cross, 6th Block, Jayanagar. Mobile immersion tanks will be stationed at nine places for two days, on August 27 and 28. Idols less than one-and-a-half foot in height can be immersed in the mobile tanks. The mobile tanks will be stationed at the Netaji Subashchandra Bose Stadium, Saneguruvanahalli Tank area in Basaveshwaranagar (Ward 19), Vidyapeetha Circle in Banashankari 1st Stage (Ward 53), BDA Complex in Koramangala 3rd Block (Ward 68), ORC Road, Austin Town, (Ward 76), Indiranagar, 100 Feet Road, (Ward 72), Rajajinagar Commercial Complex (Ward 15), Havanur Circle (Ward 19) and Police Quarters Grounds, Vijayanagar Circle (Ward 10).
