Nortel's new R&D centre

BANGALORE: Nortel India is setting up a new R&D centre in Bangalore. It will have a headcount of 100 highly skilled engineers, including 70 from Tasman Networks, which it acquired recently. The new R&D centre would build on Nortel's existing capabilities in advanced routers, ethernet switching, security and VoIP (voice over internet protocol), Nortel India Managing Director, Ravi Chauhan, told newspersons here. The new facility is the company's 13th R&D centre across the world and second in Asia after Beijing.
