Surat floods: IRDA directive

CHENNAI: The Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority on Wednesday raised the limit of losses required to be surveyed by a licensed surveyor and loss assessor for settlement of claims, from Rs 20,000 to Rs 50,000 for the recent flash floods in Surat, for a period of two months from August 23, to enable expeditious disposal of claims.
