MUMBAI: The rupee on Thursday continued to lean down against the U.S. currency on persistent dollar demand along with firm dollar against euro. In quite trading on the interbank foreign exchange market, the Indian unit opened low at 46.55/56 a dollar against Wednesday's close of 46.5250/5350 but later, tended to recover marginally after fresh inflow of foreign funds into the stock markets and closed at 46.53/54, still marginally lower than the previous close. The Reserve Bank of India fixed the reference rate for the U.S. currency at Rs. 46.50. PTI
