Bangalore: Outsource Partners International (OPI), a professional services firm dedicated to finance and accounting outsourcing, has added a new facility to accommodate more than 1,000 finance and accounting staff.

This facility, together with the one in Kochi, allows OPI to accommodate more than 3,000 employees in India.

The new facility located on Bangalore's Outer Ring Road offers state-of-the-art technology and security and privacy.

Demand

"We are aggressively expanding to keep up with the fast-growing demand for finance and accounting outsourcing services," said Kishore Mirchandani, president of OPI, and Chief Executive Officer of OPI's Indian subsidiary, Business Process Outsourcing Pvt. Ltd.

Doubled

"Just two years ago we doubled our previous capacity in Bangalore with the expansion of our service centre. Now, the demand has commanded a move to this new facility with over two times the capacity of even our expanded office."

Elected TiE president

Pradeep Kar, founder and chief executive officer of Microland, has been elected president of The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE), Bangalore chapter.

In this capacity, Mr. Kar will provide strategic direction towards enhancing the entrepreneurial climate in Bangalore and further strengthening the city's ties with the global entrepreneurial and business ecosystem.

Welcoming Mr. Kar on board, Sridhar Iyengar, president TiE Global said, "TiE helps budding entrepreneurs through programmes that cover networking, mentoring and education. Appointed

Flextronics Software Systems (FSS), a global end-to-end communication solutions provider, has appointed Manoranjan Mohapatra as its president and chief operating officer.

With over 14 years in the company, Mr. Mohapatra has been a core member of the FSS leadership team since the company's inception and has played a pivotal role in driving FSS' business growth. Prior to this, Mr. Mohapatra was executive vice-president and chief operating officer of FSS and has been assigned this new role, following the sudden demise of Arun Kumar, erstwhile president and managing director in July 2006.

Wrangler's largest store

Wrangler, the fashion denim brand, on Tuesday opened its largest store in the world, at Indiranagar in Bangalore. Wrangler has 41 stores across the country and plans to open 14 more by the end of the year.

A long way

Speaking at the launch, Darshan Mehta, president, Arvind Brands Ltd. said, "Wrangler has come a long way since its re-launch in India in 2000. We have made tremendous changes in the brand; the focus has shifted towards being fashion oriented and more youthful.
