Vijayakant distributes aid to poor

Vijayakant will observe his birthday (August 25) on Friday as "poverty eradication day." The actor said he would launch welfare schemes worth Rs.20 lakh for the poor.

The actor has donated Rs.50,000 to Dr. MGR School for the Deaf in Chennai.

He has also distributed tricycles to physically handicapped persons, 25 sewing machines to women, 10 iron boxes to laundry workers, besides giving away 10 computers to government schools and uniforms and books to students.

He has also announced that his party DMDK would launch a wing especially for the welfare of the disabled persons.
