Music programme

The All India Radio, Bangalore, will broadcast a 27-episode music programme "Haadu hakki" on every Friday from August 25. The programme had been designed to create interest in music, especially among children.

Elected

M.R. Doreswamy Iyengar has been elected as president of Malleswaram Sangeetha Sabha for 2006-08. The other office bearers include A. Sambashivam (vice-president), B.K. Chandramouli (secretary) and B.R. Sampath Kumaran (treasurer).

Engineers repatriated

Two Engineers from Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) were ordered to be repatriated to their original departments by BDA Commissioner M.K. Shankaralinge Gowda here on Thursday. The two engineers are A. Parameshwarappa, Assistant Executive Engineer, and Venkatesh, Assistant Engineer. They were relieved for "dereliction of duty in allowing encroachments in Kacharakanahalli HBR 1st Stage".
