CHENNAI: Member (Mechanical), Railway Board, R.R. Bhandari, on Saturday inaugurated the extended workplace and the state-of-the-art laser cutting machine in the shell division of the Integral Coach Factory (ICF). An ICF release said here that the Rs. 5.34-crore machine could cut sheets and plates up to 20 mm mild steel and 15 mm stainless steel. It was easily programmable to manufacture various components.
Paint booth project
Mr. Bhandari also reviewed the progress of the paint booth project in the Furnishing Division and the Garib Rath air-conditioned Chair Cars under production. Later, he held discussions with officials, including General Manager Raja Goundan and Chief Mechanical Engineer B.P. Singh, the release said.
