MUMBAI: In lacklustre trading, the rupee closed flat against the U.S. dollar at 46.51/52 on Wednesday as a drop in crude oil prices reduced dollar demand from oil public sector enterprises. The usual month-end dollar demand was met by supplies from exporters. In restricted activity at the inter-bank foreign exchange market, the Indian currency started firm at 46.47/49 and after moving in a range of 46.47 and 46.52, closed the day at 46.51/52 against 46.50/51 previously.
