Suicide prevention

The National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS) in collaboration with its networking partners, including Medico-Pastoral Association and Sahai suicide prevention helpline, is organising a seminar on "suicide prevention" on September 9 as part of the Global Suicide Prevention Day activities.

UCO Bank forms new team

UCO Bank has launched the Small Enterprises Sales Force to cater to needs of traders, real estate dealers and the mortgage segment. The team will mobilise current account, insurance and mutual fund business, the bank said. The bank is targeting increase of credit flow under retail and small enterprises segments from the current level of 19 per cent to 30 per cent of the bank's credit. To achieve this, UCO Bank plans to increase the number of branches under Core Banking Solution from 14 to 125 by March 2007.

Blood donation camp

The Lions Club of Bangalore, Sanjaynagar, is organising a blood donation camp at the blood bank of Victoria Hospital on September 3, between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. The voluntary blood donors can enrol on www.lionsbloodline.com for responding to calls in case of emergencies

Power shutdown

There will be no power supply on Friday between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. in P.S.K. Naidu Road, K.H.B. Colony, Ramakrishnappa Road and surrounding areas, according to Bangalore Electricity Supply Company Ltd. release.

PF adalat

The Employees Provident Fund Organisation will conduct "Bhavishya Nidhi Adalat" on September 11. The adalat will be held at the office of the Regional Provident Fund Commissioner, Sri Rajarammohun Roy Road. The PF subscribers whose grievances have not been redressed for long can send their details on or before September 7. For details, call 22483722.

Examinations

Mysore Hindi Prachara Parishad will conduct Hindi and Kannada examinations on September 9 and 10. Parishad's Hindi Pravesh to Hindi Uttama-2 will be held at the Government High School, Juganahalli, near ESI Hospital, Rajajinagar. Hindi Ratna 1, Hindi Rathna- 2 will be held in Parishad's premises in West of Chord Road. Pracharaks have been requested to collect student's hall tickets from the respective examination centres.
