BMA to hold meet from September 8

Bangalore: The Bangalore Management Association (BMA) will organise its 53rd annual convention here on September 8 and 9 with the theme, "Globalisation - enabling fast track Karnataka - agenda, priorities and actions."

Chairman of the convention and Managing Director of Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd. (HAL) A.K. Saxena said on Friday that speakers at the convention included Governor T.N. Chaturvedi, Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy, scientist Kasturirangan, former Cabinet Secretary Zafar Saifullah, Ravi Uppal of ABB, Pradeep Kar of Microland, Ashok Kheny of Nandi Infrastructure Corridor Enterprises, Sunil Lulla of Times Global, and K.L. Chugh, Chairman Emeritus of ITC.

BMA President Patrawalla said the convention would have panel discussions on specific sectors such as infrastructure, banking, finance and insurance, media and entertainment, software and electronics, manufacturing, retail and allied services industry, biotechnology, healthcare, and pharmaceutical industries.

"The convention aims to address issues to make the State globally competitive by learning from business leaders of other States on issues of competitive advantage, issues conducive to conduct business, issues of infrastructure that plagues the State and issues of industries which flourish in other States. The theme becomes all the more relevant at a time when Karnataka is growing and struggling to cope with the growth," Mr. Saxena said.
