ESI scheme extended to Kelambakkam

Establishments in the area required to register with regional office required

CHENNAI : The Employees' State Insurance Corporation on Friday announced that the ESI scheme had been extended by the Central Government to Kelambakkam area.

A press release from the ESI Corporation said the revenue villages covered under the ESI scheme included Chemmancherri, Navaloor, Egattur, Kazhipattur, Kelambakkam, Padur, Thaiyur, Edyankuppam, Alathur, Sathankuppam, Nedungundram, Rathinamangalam, Kolappakkam, Tiruporur of Chengalpattu Taluk in Kancheepuram district.

All factories/establishments covered under the ESI Act, falling within these revenue villages, are required to register their units within 15 days by submitting prescribed Form 01 to the Regional Director, Regional Office, ESI Corporation, 143, Sterling Road, Nungambakkam, Chennai - 34 for registration of their units.

After allotment of Code Number by Regional Office, employers will be required to register their employees by submitting the necessary declaration forms at the branch office at Adyar, ESI Corporation, 112, Tiruvallur Salai, 2nd Floor, Sree Venkateswara Complex, Tiruvanmiyur, Chennai - 41.

An ESI dispensary is functioning at 3/140-A, Pillayar Koil Street, Kelambakkam in Mancheepuram district for providing medical benefits to the covered employees and their family members. For assistance employers could contact either Regional Director or branch officer (Inspection), at Regional office or Branch Manager, Adyar, the release added.
