`I do not believe in vaastu shastra'

Staff Reporter

Bangalore: Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy has dubbed construction of structures according to vaastu shastra as obscurantist. He was not the kind of person to believe such things, he said.

Speaking to presspersons after inaugurating Labour and Minority Welfare Minister Iqbal Ansari's secretariat at Vikasa Soudha, the Chief Minister denied that Ministers were hesitating to move over to the annexe of the Vidhana Soudha on the ground that it had not been built according to the tenents of vaastu shastra. He said that the new secretariat building had state-of-the-art facilities and the Ministers, who had been allotted chambers in that building were shifting without any murmur.

Mr. Kumaraswamy said that greenery and beautiful landscape would be maintained around Vidhana Soudha and Vikasa Soudha. Cultural troupes would perform in front of the Vidhana Soudha and entertain people. Mr. Kumaraswamy sat for a while at Room Nos. 406 and 407 allotted to Mr. Ansari. It was his first visit to Vikasa Soudha after he assumed office six months ago.
