Mumbai blast accused undergoes narco- analysis test

BANGALORE : The Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) on Tuesday completed the narco-analysis test on one of the two suspects involved the Mumbai blasts.

Kamal Ahmed Vakil Ansari and Tanveer Ansari, a Unani doctor, were brought here by Mumbai's Anti-Terrorism Squad on Monday afternoon. The two underwent the brain-mapping test at the FSL. They were then taken to the Victoria Hospital for narco-analysis.

B. Mohan, FSL director, said they performed the narco-analysis test on one person. The other would be subjected to the test on Wednesday, he said.

Mr. Mohan said the FSL had agreed to extend its service to the ATS till Thursday. The ATS is likely to bring two more suspects for brain-mapping and narco-analysis. It was on August 29 that that the ATS produced nine accused persons, including the two who underwent the tests, before the Mazgaon Metropolitan Magistrate of Mumbai and sought permission to conduct polygraph, brain-mapping and narco-analysis tests.
