BANGALORE: Sharath Kamal proved to be head and shoulders above his rivals in the men's singles section of the inter-institutional table tennis tournament, which concluded at the Kanteerava indoor stadium on Tuesday.

In a one-sided final, the top seed pulverised Subojit Saha to win in straight games. Sharath unleashed a series of superb smashes and deft placements leaving his opponent shaking his head in bewilderment.

In the women's final, Poulomi Ghatak breezed past Mousomi Paul.

Men: Singles (final): Sharath Kamal (PSPB) bt Subojit Saha (PSPB) 11-9, 11-4, 11-6, 11-3.

Semifinals: S. Kamal bt G Jitendra (RSPB) 3-11, 11-5, 11-7, 11-4, 6-11, 11-6; Subojit Saha bt Aniket Koparkar 11-6, 11-6, 11-9, 11-4.
