BANGALORE: Abhimanyu Singh of Madhya Pradesh and Aditya Elango of Tamil Nadu battled their way through to the main draw of the under-19 singles of the Union Bank all-India ranking badminton championship at KBA courts here on Tuesday. Abhimanyu won a thriller against Vipul Saini of Chandigarh at 19-21, 21-12, 21-19 while Aditya rallied to beat Anil Kumar of Andhra Pradesh at 14-21, 21-18, 21-11 in the final qualifying round. Others to make the main draw were Sai Praneeth, Gurusai Dutt, Naveen Kumar (all from AP), Mandneep Singh (Railway), Oscar Bansal (Chandigarh) and Nihar Tilekar (Maharashtra). The main draw gets underway on Wednesday. Christ College in semifinals
Christ College entered the semifinals of the basketball tournament in the SPIEL inter-collegiate sports meet here with a 55-30 victory over RNS Institute of Technology. G. Siddarth was the main scorer for Christ College with 16 points. In football, St. Joseph's Evening College beat Garden City College 5-3 via tie-breaker after the full time ended in a 2-2 stalemate.

S. Vinodh's 105 and S. Prajwal's 104 helped Herons post 403 against Swastic Union (1) in a KSCA Group I first division league here recently.
