MUMBAI: The Bombay Stock Exchange suffered a sharp setback on weak global cues with the benchmark Sensex closing 79 points lower on Thursday in volatile trading amidst foreign institutional investment outflows. The BSE 30-share sensitive index (Sensex) opened weak at 11893.33 and later fell sharply to an intra-day low of 11815.43 before closing at 11853.85 against Wednesday's close of 11933.21, a net fall of 79.36 points. perators and retail investors turned cautious following FII pull out on September 5 and 6, brokers said. The FIIs reported net sales of Rs. 284 crore in the futures and options segment in two sessions. Sentiment was adversely affected by sluggish trend in global markets. PTI
