Letters to the Editor
It is unbelievable that Steve Irwin is no more. Ironically, the man who was considered invincible for his hair-raising confrontation with venomous snakes and crocodiles finally died in a freak accident. Strange are the ways of nature. Goodbye Steve. You will remain in our hearts forever.
The death of the crocodile hunter is a great loss to animal lovers. His acts astonished the whole world. That the death of someone so daring and adventurous should have been caused by a freak stingray attack is indeed unfortunate.
S. Bagawati Prasad,
Irwin performed feats ordinary people cannot even imagine doing. He taught the world about the animal kingdom and was willing to take risks. I still remember him crying uncontrollably over the death of a crocodile.
R. Ashok,
Steve Irwin brought the world of animals into people's drawing rooms across the world. He reinforced that animals and reptiles have a right to live on this planet along with humans.
J. Rengarajan,
Steve infected people, particularly children, with his undying love for animals. His feats inspired those who watched his shows. We have lost a magnificent personality who made a big difference to wildlife. We need many like him to help in the conservation of our flora and fauna.
Abhinaya Ganesh,
New Delhi
