Srikakulam: Judge Mary Grace on Thursday remanded five engineering students of GMR Information Technology Institute at Rajam, facing charges under the Prevention of Ragging Act, 1997, till September 21. Accused students D. Vijaya Bhaskar, T. Ravi, Krishna Chaitanya, Y. Yerraiah and T. Ramesh were produced in the court of Junior Civil Judge, Rajam, 40 km from here. The students, who were arrested on Wednesday, were shifted to the sub-jail at Palakonda. The other accused in the sensational ragging case, Santosh, a native of Jamshedpur, is still at large. The accused students had allegedly subjected complainants to sexual harassment on Monday and Tuesday. According to the police, the accused students had `ordered' another student to record the acts of ragging in a cellphone camera, which was seized by the police.
