They will make a presentation on the importance of water conservation

Bangalore: Spastic children in Bangalore are doing their part for the environment. Students of Spastics Society of Karnataka , studying in classes VI to X will make a presentation on water conservation and rainwater harvesting to over 200 students of Vidhya Niketan Public School, Ullal Upanagara. The event will be part of a campaign, "My Water" (Mobilizing Youth for Water Conservation), launched by Tata Energy Research Institute.

It is aimed at sensitising schoolchildren to the need for conserving water and implementing rainwater harvesting systems in schools.

Rukmini Krishnaswamy, Director, SSK, said: "Water is a valuable resource needed for human existence. It is necessary to teach children the importance of conserving it. We feel that our children interacting with other schoolchildren will be a good way of teaching them this."

The presentation is also an opportunity for spastic children to interact with other children. Social games have been organised in August, in which children from SSK and Indiranagar High School will participate.
