Tamil drama festival begins today

The Tamil Kalai Mandram will organise a drama festival from Friday to Sunday at Kalabharati auditorium.

Y.G. Mahendran's United Artist Association would stage `Kathalikka Neramundu', `Lights On' and `Thandramukhi' during the three-day festival.

SBI's new concept

Visakhapatnam zone DGM of SBI Supriyo Kumar Chaudhari inaugurated a post, Relationship Manager (personal banking), at the SBI's Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (VSP) branch.

The officer in-charge of the post would cater to the banking needs of customers in deposits, SBI mutual fund investments, car and housing loans. VSP GM (F and A) K.S. Shankar and DGM (Finance) G.N. Murthy participated.

Engineering college's symposium

The Information Technology Department of Gayatri Vidya Parishad College of Engineering here will organise a national symposium `Focus 06' from Friday to Sunday to encourage students to exhibit their technical skills.

The programmes include technical paper presentations, speed programming, technical quiz on topics like distribution automation, power electronics and drivers, micro controller, micro-processor applications, optical camouflage etc.

VSP and e-revolution

The Visakhapatnam Steel Plant was taking several initiatives to implement information systems, e-commerce in the plant to achieve corporate objectives, encouraging e-revolution and the plant was in the forefront in computerisation, said VSP Director (Personnel and Projects) K. Ayyappa Naidu.

He was participating in a programme `enterprise risk management' under the aegis of the Vizag chapter of the Computer Society of India (CSI) here.

Bank's centenary

The Visakhapatnam zone of the Bank of India has organised various awareness campaigns, blood donation camps and provided donations to school, orphanages, old age homes and hospitals to mark the centenary celebrations of the bank that was established on September 7, 1906, by a group of eminent businessmen.
