Applications invited

Applications are invited for the post of guest faculty at the Department of Electronic Science, Bangalore University. Candidates should have a good academic record with at least 55 per cent marks at the master's degree. Preference will be given to those who have passed NET conducted by UGC, CSIR. BMP revenue

The Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BMP) has collected Rs. 194 crore as revenue from April to August 2006. It had set itself a target of Rs. 198 crore as revenue to be collected, a press release said.

Teacher felicitated

K. Heldt, who has worked as teacher with Clarence High School, Frazer Town, for over 30 years, was felicitated on the occasion of Teachers Day by the State Bank of India (SBI), Richards Town branch. SBI General Manager (Local Head Office), Mahpara Ali, felicitated Ms. Heldt. SBI's Deputy General Managers C.S. Jain and Sunil Damodaran spoke. Bank's Assistant General Manager K. Venkatachalapathy and Chief Manager T.B. Somashekar were present.
