Traffic curbs for St. Mary's feast

BANGALORE: In view of the annual feast at St. Mary's Basilica on Friday, the police have imposed restrictions on the movement and parking of vehicles in and around Shivajinagar.

The restrictions will be in force from 1 p.m. on Friday to 9 a.m. on Saturday.

The movement of vehicles has been banned on Meenakshi Koil Street (from Jyothi Café junction to Russel Market), Broadway Road (from Cockburn Road junction to Russel Market) and Dharmaraja Koil Street (from Old Poor House Road junction to Russel Market), according to a press release. Vehicles will not be allowed towards Russel Market from Seppings Road and Arunachala Mudaliar Road junction.

Vehicles, including BMTC buses, will not be allowed towards Shivajinagar Bus Station from BRV junction and from Balekundri Circle.

Banned

The police have banned parking of vehicles on Broadway Road, Meenakshi Koil Street, Central Street, Union Street and Cunningham Road (from Balekundri Circle to Wockhardt Hospital).

Vehicles can be parked at the Shivajinagar Stadium, BRV Police Parade Ground, Kamaraj Road parking lot, Main Guard Cross Road (opposite Safina Plaza), Kings Road (inside Cubbon Park), and Jasma Bhavan Road.

Bus stops

For the convenience of BMTC bus commuters, bus stops have been provided at following places:

Buses going towards Jayanagar, K.H. Road, Hosur Road, Koramangala and Bannerghatta Road will stop on Cubbon Road (between BRV junction and CTO Circle); buses going towards Old Madras Road, Domlur, K.R. Puram, Marathahalli, Varthur, White Field, Kadugodi and Hoskote will stop on Cubbon Road (between Kamaraj Road-Cubbon Road junction and Manipal Centre).

Buses going towards Kempegowda Bus Station (Majestic), Vijayanagar, Malleswaram, Rajajinagar, K.R. Market and Mysore Road will stop in front of the High Court.

Buses going towards J.C. Nagar, R.T. Nagar, Yeshwanthapur, Peenya, Hebbal, Yelahanka, Tannery Road, Banaswadi, Jalahalli, Lingarajapuram and Ramamurthynagar will stop on Queen's Road (between Thimmaiah Road junction and Balekundri Circle).
