Man accused of killing father-in-law

BIJAPUR: A man allegedly murdered his father-in-law at Buyyar village in Indi taluk on Friday. The police gave the name of the victim as Arjun Maggi (55). The accused, Siddaram Talwar, went to his father-in-law's house to bring back his wife who had been living there for some months in the wake of the strained relations with him.

Talwar's in-laws wanted him to promise them that he would look after their daughter well. Annoyed by this, Talwar allegedly hit Arjun Maggi with a weapon, killing him on the spot.

Suicide

Disgusted by his repeated failure to clear the second year pre-university examination, Umesh Jagannath Bhusnur (19) committed suicide by hanging himself at Devanagaum village in Sindagi taluk on Thursday.
