HYDERABAD: The Madhapur police on Saturday caught six persons who allegedly assaulted four persons at a public tap near Kothapet in Madhapur. A .32 licensed revolver was seized from one of the arrested persons, Samirullah Hussain, 32, said Madhapur Inspector P. Jairam. Hussain and six of his associates were going to Hafeezpet in a four-wheeler and stopped by a public tap to collect drinking water. An argument ensued when they allegedly pushed people standing in the queue to collect water. When some local people raised objection, the gang assaulted them with plastic pipes. They fled in the car when locals gathered in large numbers and retaliated. Learning about the incident, the Inspector chased the vehicle and caught six members of the gang.
