Recruitment process made easy for call centre employers

Bangalore: You need not rely any longer on contacts or hope the resume you send may reach the right person at the right time. A city-headquartered training institute is out to make recruitment easy for employers in the call centre/ Business Process Outsourcing sector.

JTS Institute, said to be the largest in the region focussed on call centre job training, has launched a free e-recruitment system.

Online test

Job seekers just need to attend an online test, logging on to www.jtsinstitute.com. Those who score marks above 50 per cent will be interviewed telephonically by call centres.

The expenditure involved is paid by the call centres recruiting candidates so the entire e-recruitment process comes free to job seekers, JTS Institute says.

Software

"It is for the first time an e-recruitment software has been specifically introduced for recruitment of call centre professionals. It will help job seekers from the semi-urban and rural areas who may not otherwise be able to attend call centres interviews because of the distance and expense involved. The employers benefit by getting employable candidates from any corner of the country,'' Pradip Menon, Chief Executive Officer of JTS Institute, says.

The e-recruitment process has three rounds. The first is an online written test that assesses the quality of language and aptitude of the job-seeker.

Questions are designed to check skills in grammar, vocabulary, spelling, analogy and comprehension. Results are given immediately and only those scoring 50 per cent and above are eligible for the next round.

The second round is a telephonic interview by a voice-and-accent expert from the call centre concerned. The candidate gets a call on a landline or mobile number by the interviewer. He will assess the employability of the candidate based on specific parameters.

Those successful in this round go on to the next round.

Interview

Those selected will be invited for a final interview at the office of the call centre and an appointment letter almost immediately follows.

"We are basically looking for entry-level candidates, and recruitment will be heavy in the coming days. IT-enabled services insiders predict 1 lakh job opportunities by 2008.
