Teacher thrashes six-year-old student
Sunail has been admitted to Deen Dayal Upadhyay hospital and his parents have lodged a complaint with police against the physical training instructor Charanjeet, who is absconding after the incident. Police have booked him under sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) and section 341 (wrongful restraint) and launched a hunt to nab the teacher, who is a resident of Rajouri Garden in West Delhi.
Visually impaired girl commits suicide
Poonam had been suffering from visual impairment for the past 10 years. Her father, Kumar Pal, is a teacher at a Municipal Corporation of Delhi school.
Three held for alleged drug peddling
According to the police, Ramesh and his brother Naresh were arrested near Hanuman Temple on Ring Road on Friday. At their instance, the police arrested Ratni, a resident of Sultanpuri, from whom the accused allegedly used to procure the contraband. The police said Naresh and Ramesh had earlier been involved in many criminal cases. They had also managed to buy a motorcycle on finance and began committing chain-snatchings.
Man dies of burn injuries
According to the police, Mahendra Singh, who had been detained in connection with a theft case on Wednesday evening, had allegedly set himself afire on Friday morning. He was rushed to Sanjay Gandhi Hospital from where he was referred to LNJP Hospital where he died this morning around 7 a.m. The District Investigation Unit of the West Delhi police is inquiring into the case. However, family members of the deceased had alleged that he was set afire.
