MUMBAI: The rupee turned weak against the U.S currency on Monday after a firm start and ended at 46.1350/1450 a dollar, lower than the previous close on fresh dollar demand. In active trading at the interbank foreign exchange market, the Indian unit started higher at 46.04/06 a dollar, but later fell sharply to 46.1600 as fresh dollar demand emerged from oil companies after a rise in crude prices. Later, the rupee ended at 46.1350/1450 a dollar, lower than the last weekend close of 46.1150/1250. PTI
