NEW DELHI: Intensifying their agitation for enhancement of the quantum of merit-cum-means scholarships to Rs. 1,500 per month, members of the Jawaharlal Nehru University Students' Union and some students have decided to go on an indefinite hunger strike from Thursday. Some students of the University had proceeded on a relay hunger strike this past weekend in the hope that their demands would be met in a couple of days, but with the JNU administration refusing to accept the demands, they have now decided to take the agitation to the next stage. "The JNU Teachers' Association has also supported our stand. We have called for a protest march, after which students will go on a hunger strike," said JNU Students' Union vice-president JNUSU.
