Bangalore: For a healthy heart, people should start taking care from an early age, doctors feel. Taking this concept forward, Manipal Heart Foundation has organised, among other events to mark World Heart Day on September 24, a painting competition for children aged between 6 and 12. Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath and Radio City are associated with the competition. Besides the doctors and nursing team of the hospitals, Radio City radio jockeys will turn up to cheer the children, when the competition takes place at the hospital. Registration is free and drawing sheets will be provided. The children need to bring colouring material. There will gifts for all participating children. Medical Director Nagendra Swamy said, "`How Young is Your Heart', is the theme for this year's World Health Day, celebrated worldwide. We are most active during childhood and as we grow older, lack of physical activity and lifestyle contribute significantly to heart disorders." "The painting competition is to create awareness among adults through children," he said.
