Gangjee finishes tied third

SEOUL: India's Rahil Gangjee finished tied third after giving a great chase to the leaders on the final day of the $700,000 Kolon-Hana Bank Korea Open golf tournament here on Sunday.

Gangjee scored five birdies in the first 15 holes but then as he looked like making it closer, he dropped two shots on last two holes for a bogey-bogey finish that saw him drop to tied third after seeming to be in a position to challenge the eventual winner Yang Yong-Eun of South Korea.

Jeev finishes tied eighth

A late recovery, with three bogeys in the last four holes, saw Jeev Milkha Singh return a modest two-under 71 card in the final round to finish an impressive tied eighth in the Acom International at Ibaraki on Sunday.

With the win, the UBS Asian Tour Order of the Merit leader further cemented his lead at the top.

Atwal's impressive show

A last hole bogey was the only blemish as Arjun Atwal carded an impressive three-under 67 to jump to tied 45th position after the third round of the $4,000,000 Texas Open in Houston.

The Orlando-based Indian has a three-day aggregate of two-under 141 and is 14 shots off the pace. American Eric Axely returned his second successive seven-under 63 card to open up a four shot lead at the top. — Agencies
