Shravan and Murali shine

HYDERABAD: K. Shravan's spell of six for 36 for United Club and Murali Goud's 115 for Lok Nayak were the highlights of the A-Division (one-day) league cricket championship here.

The scores: A-Division (one-day) league: Abhinav Colts 81 (K. Shravan six for 36) lost to United 82 for three.

RK Puram 91 (Anoop four for 23) lost to Secunderabad Club 94 for four (Kashyap 44).

Lok Nayak 308 for seven (Murali Goud 115, Kalyan Goud 77) bt Sacred Heart 76 (Jerome 45 not out, Ram Sudhakar four for 12).

B-Division league: Bharatiya 200 for eight (Vara Prasad 60) bt Mahamood CC 105.

Shabazuddin slams ton

A century by Syed Shabazuddin (153 not out, 18 x 4) and good bowling by Mahesh (six for 46) helped Don Bosco HS score a 131-run win over Boys Town HS in the Himalaya Cup inter-schools (under-15) cricket tournament.

The scores: Himalaya Cup inter-schools (Under-15): Don Bosco HS 270 for eight (Syed Shabazuddin 153 not out, Zubaid Ahmed three for 68) bt Boys Town HS 139 (Mohd Ati-ur-Rehman 62, Mahesh six for 46).

Schools league: Vijayanand 68 (Rohan Surana four for 32) lost to Navjeevan Friends 69 for seven (Devesh four for 30, Vipul three for 39).

Singh XI 127 for nine (Jaideep 34, P.B. Parashar six for 28) lost to St. Andrew's HS 128 for two (A. Akash 53 not out, B. Sandeep 30).

HCA Academy 216 (Dharampal Reddy 66, Vamshi Vardhan Reddy 32, Vasanth 35, Raghuram five for 74) bt New Stars 106 (Vasanth Reddy five for 31).

AVCC 66 (Sachin 36, Y. Prem Kumar four for 15, Nasrool Haque three for 21) lost to WMCC 69 for no loss (Nasrool Haque 34 not out, Y. Prem Kumar 31 not out).

Ravi Teja to lead

Ravi Teja will lead the Hyderabad (under-19) team in the South Zone inter-state one-day limited overs cricket tournament to be held in Visakhapatnam from October 5 to 11. All the players are to report at Gymkhana Grounds from September 26 at 6.30 a.m. for training.
