Srinagar: One Taja Beghum was injured when an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) exploded along the barbed wire fencing outside an army camp's headquarters in Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday, a defence spokesman said. An IED, presumably planted by militants to target soldiers who regularly undertake perimeter search of the camp at 7 Rashtriya Rifles in Pohrupet, went off around 12.10 pm when she was walking along its barbed wire fence, the spokesman said. The injured woman was shifted to Handwara district hospital in a very stable condition after police recorded her statement. She was later referred to the bones and joints hospital in Srinagar. An FIR has been lodged, the spokesman said. PTI
