KOCHI: A refresher programme on codex principles in food hygiene and application of HACCP in the marine sector was held here on Saturday and Sunday. Christy Fernandez, Chairman of the Export Inspection Council of India, inaugurated the programme. The course was designed by human resources and quality control division of the council to update the knowledge of officers of the Export Inspection Agency here. Vijay Kumar, Additional Director of the council, emphasised the need for implementing HACCP in the food industry to enable Indian products to be acceptable all over the world, including in the home market. Deepak Shekhar, Joint Director of the council here, proposed a vote of thanks.
