CHENNAI : A 26-year-old graduate was arrested on charges of using a stolen credit card and attempting to purchase goods from a jewellery showroom in the city on Tuesday. Police said the arrested man, Arun Prasad of Nandanam, belonged to Dharmapuri district. Along with three of his accomplices, he visited a jewellery shop in Usman Road, T. Nagar, on Tuesday and purchased a gold chain weighing five sovereigns. When an alert salesman questioned him, he and his accomplices fled. The police were informed about it. Police investigations revealed that Arun Prasad had purchased a new mobile phone valued Rs 25,000 from a showroom in North Usman Road recently using the credit card. Arun Prasad has been remanded to judicial custody.
