Bibles on sale at reduced rates

CHENNAI: The Bible Society of India and The Book Room will hold a reduction sale from October 4 to 8 at The Memorial Hall, Bible Society Campus, Park Town. Varieties of over 400 Bibles, electronic and digital, personalised Bibles at the venue with familiar versions and children's products.

Gilt-edged Bibles in various regional languages are also available. Products on display will be sold at heavy discounts ranging from 10 to 70 per cent of the retail prices. The exhibition will be open on all the five days from 9.30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Both cash and credit cards will be accepted.

Palanchur college inaugural function

Dr. V. Sankaran, Director, Packet Island Technologies, Chennai, inaugurated the technical association activities of Computer Science and Engineering and Information Technology Departments of DMI College of Engineering, Palanchur.

The students presented technical papers after the inaugural function was over.

Nano technology, applications

The Department of Physics, Rajalakshmi Engineering College, Thandalam, organised a guest lecture on `Nano Technology and Its Applications,' recently. V. Ravichandran, Department of Nuclear Physics, University of Madras explained the importance of Nano Technology in the fields of medicine, engineering and material sciences.

Medical camp

for diabetes

A 15-day medical camp for diabetes will be conducted from October 9 to 23 to commemorate World Elders Day. Investigations including PBS, PPBS, HBIAC, Lipid Profile, Blood Urea, Serum Creatinine, Serum Electrolytes, Urine Routine, 24-hour urine protein, ECG, Ultra Sound and Ex-ray Chest PA view will be conducted at a subsidised rate of Rs. 1,100.

Free Sanskrit classes at West Mambalam

The Mambalam Samskrita Vidyalaya will conduct free Sanskrit classes at Sri Ahobila Math Oriental Higher Secondary School, West Mambalam. Persons from all age groups can participate in the classes, which are being conducted by the institution for the past 52 years.

The classes will be for 45 minutes, thrice a week.

Students are coached for Chittoor Samskrita Bhasha Pracharni Sabha, examination recognised by the Government of Andhra Pradesh, conducted twice a year in March and September.
