MPs to be asked to raise State issues in Parliament

Decision on taking all-party team to Centre welcomed

Bangalore: Overwhelmed by the unprecedented support to their bandh call on Wednesday, Kannada organisations claimed that its success would strengthen the State's resolve on the various issues affecting the people and act as a warning to the Centre against being partisan on the boundary issue.

Thanking the people for their support to the bandh, leaders of various organisations such as Vatal Nagaraj, MLA, K. Prabhakara Reddy, former MLA, S.R. Govindu, president, Rajkumar Fans' Association, Chandrashekhar Patil, president, Kannada Sahitya Parishat, and L. Byrappa, president, Karnataka State Government Employees' Association, said that this was the beginning of a long struggle against the Centre's step-motherly attitude towards the State.

Mr. Nagaraj and Mr. Govindu said the people would now ask MPs to raise their voice in Parliament on the problems affecting the State.

He welcomed Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy's decision to take an all-party delegation to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on the border issue.
