VISAKHAPATNAM: Last year's runner-up Andhra pulled off an upset win over defending champion Tamil Nadu in a round-robin match on the first day of the Vinoo Mankad Trophy (South Zone) under-19 cricket tournament at the ACA-VDCA Stadium here on Thursday. India under-19 player B. Sumanth scored a fine 87 (7x4, 2x6) and propped up the Andhra innings. Though K.H. Gopinath hit a half-century (52, 7x4) Tamil Nadu fell short by 18 runs. At the Ukku Stadium, Hyderabad scored a 71-run win over Goa after the Duckworth/Lewis method was used to decide the result of the rain-hit match. Karnataka defeated Kerala by four wickets in another tie at the Port Stadium. The scores: Andhra 210 in 46 overs (B. Sumanth 83, V. Sandeep 41, N. Einstein four for 43) bt Tamil Nadu 192 in 47.5 overs (K.H. Gopinath 52). Andhra 4 points Hyderabad 173 for seven in 40 overs (Akshit Reddy 59) bt Goa 60 for seven in 20 overs (Hyderabad won on D/L method). Hyderabad 4 points Kerala 220 in 49.3 overs (Rajilal 87, Pious K.
