Installation of new seer of Kanaka Gurupeetha on October 29

Bangalore: Niranjananandapuri Swamiji, the senior most of the five disciples of the late Beerendra Tarakanandapuri Swamiji would be installed as the new peethadhipati of Kanaka Gurupeetha at Kaginele in Haveri district on October 29.

A scholar in Sanskrit, the new swamiji was selected to head the math by the Kuruba leaders some time ago.

Programmes

Secretary of the Karnataka Kuruba Pradesh Samaja Doddanna said there would be a two-day celebration at Kaginele.

Cultural programmes would be organised the previous day. Senior leaders of the community such as Water Resources Minister K.S. Eshwarappa, Agriculture Minister Bandeppa Kashempur, the former Deputy Chief Minister and Congress leader Siddaramaiah and H.Y. Meti, MLA, and a large number of devotees would attend the celebrations.

Mr. Doddanna said the office-bearers of the gurupeetha and the leaders would meet and discuss the development activities to be taken up by the new seer.

Invitation

He said that heads of other Hindu maths and those of other religions would be invited for the installation ceremony.
