HYDERABAD: Striker Thulsi Ram scored eight goals as Hyderabad Public School (Ramanthapur) blanked BEL, Bangalore 14-0 in the boys' U-19 section of the South Zone CBSE inter-schools hockey tournament, which began at Ivy League Academy (near Hakimpet) here on Saturday. Manoj (3), Madan (2) and Ibrahim (1) were the other scorers. In another match, Ivy League Academy coasted to an easy 6-0 win over Jain International School, Bangalore, with Sharan and Dillip scoring a brace each. Jogabrata and Vivek also found the net. In the girls' section, Anusha Reddy's hat-trick helped VPNN, Kondapur record a 4-0 win over HPS (Ramanthapur). Prudhvi completed the tally. Archana loses
V. Archana of Hyderabad lost to Korean Park Hui-kyung 6-3, 6-2 in the final of the ITF Junior Circuit (Grade V) U-18 tennis championship in Colombo, according to information received here.

Disabled sports meet
The Municipal Corporation of Hyderabad will organise a sports meet for the physically challenged in different age groups on Oct. 17 and 18 at the Victory Playground. Selection trials
