Free medical camp

CHENNAI: Rotary Club of Madras is conducting a free medical camp for construction workers in association with the Builders Association of India, southern chapter on Sunday at Medavakkam. World Service Day

to be celebrated

Lions Club of International District 324 A1 will be organising various projects on Sunday at different parts of the city to mark World Service Day. The programmes will be launched with a road safety rally at Rajaji Hall junction, Annasalai at 8 a.m. followed by a diabetic detection camp at Central and Perambur railway stations at 8 a.m. The other events include health camps, dine with divine, literacy programme, tree plantation and blood donation.

Seminar on accelerated learning

Sundara Superlearning Systems, Thiruvanmiyur, is organising a seminar on accelerated learning and mind power activation techniques from Sunday. The programme, which is open to all, will be held at Saraswathy Venkataraman Matriculation School, Thiruvanmiyur, between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m.

Lions Club of Central Madras and Sankara Nethralaya will conduct eye screening and diabetes detection camp on Sunday for members of Vishranthi, 48, MGR Road, Palavakkam at 9 a.m.

Stationery, raincoats given to traffic police

The Lions Club of Madras North gave stationery and 16 raincoats to the police personnel of Royapettah E-2 Traffic Police Station on Gandhi Jayanthi.

T. N. Vallinayagam and Assistant Commissioner of Police P. Krishnan participated in the event held on the police station premises.

Science Club activities launched

The Science Club activities for 2006-2007 were inaugurated at Shree Chandhraprabhu Jain College last month.

R. Nagendran, professor, Centre for Environmental Studies, Anna University, said that vision, administration, demonstration and research were four pillars of science and technology.

A quiz programme was conducted for students from science departments.
