Bangalore: Tribunals on the lines of arbitration committees for speedy disposal of labour disputes was the need of the hour, said the former judge of the Karnataka High Court M.F. Saldanha here on Saturday. Delivering the inaugural address on "Labour legislations and court judgements - impact on industry", at a seminar organised by the Bangalore Chamber of Industry and Commerce (BCIC) and the Employers' Federation of Southern India, he said, "The prevailing situation with regard to labour laws and judicial systems is hopelessly far from satisfactory. Serious and radical reforms have to take place. Try to avoid going to the judiciary as it takes time and money."
