HYDERABAD : The Municipal Corporation of Hyderabad Commissioner Sanjay Jaju has directed his staff to catch all the pigs in Dasaram basti in S.R.Nagar and clear debris there by October 15 evening even as one more case of dengue was confirmed in the city. Mr. Jaju who visited the area along with corporator Shyam Sunder Goud and senior officials on Saturday wanted his staff to set up a camp office at S.R. Nagar ward office and eliminate the pig menace and clear the debris on a priority basis. He requested the residents to represent their grievances at the camp office, according to a press release issued by the MCH. In response to a request from residents, the Commissioner directed the officials to remove all encroachments that had come up recently and construct public toilets to maintain hygiene in the area.
The health wing was asked to carry out door-to-door collection of garbage by arranging tricycles and bring commercial establishments under bulk garbage system.
Tests positive
Mr. Jaju also requested residents to cooperate by not dumping garbage on the roads, the MCH release added.
Meanwhile, according to District Health and Medical Officer S. Satyavathi, tests conducted on a man from Tallagadda admitted to the Global Hospital here on Friday, based on a suspicion that he had dengue, had turned positive.
All other patients who had tested positive earlier were stable, she said, adding that DMHO officials conducted outreach sessions on Saturday in all the slums in the city. A survey on prevalent diseases was also being done simultaneously.
