Mediocre show by Indians

KOLKATA: The Indian contingent had a mediocre outing on the first two days of the ninth junior and third cadet World outdoor archery championship at Merida, Mexico.

According to information received here, the best Indian show was in the recurve cadet women's category where Pratima Bora and Pranitha Vardhineni stood sixth and eighth respectively in the individual qualification rounds.

The biggest disappointment came from Punya Prabha and Ranu in the recurve junior and Sweety Kumari in the compound junior sections. Punya finished 15th while Ranu ended 42nd. Sweety Kumari was 19th.
